Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Railway Recruitment Board as RRB conducts recruitment almost every month in railway department for filling up various vacancies. Railway Recruitment Board is going to conduct the Assistant Loco Pilot Exam. Date of Written Examination: 15th June, 2014 Eligibility: === 10th Pass and have ITI certificate === Age should be between 18 years to 33 years. Selection Procedure: Selection procedure is based on written examination, after clearing written exam there is physical competence test and application verification along with medical tests and reports. Syllabus: General Awareness, Arithmetic General Intelligence and reasoning General Science and Relevant Technical ability General Awareness : This part of question paper gauges the candidates is up to date with surrounding and includes the following: Current Affairs (National and International) Major Financial/Economic News Budget and Five Year Plans Who is Who Sports Books and Authors Awards and Honours Science - Inventions and Discoveries Abbreviations Important Days International and National Organisations Arithmetic Ability : This part of exam is usually checks the quantitative and mathematical skills of the candidates and following is the topics from which the questions asked: Number System HCF, LCM Simplification Decimal Fractions Ratio and Proportions Unitary Method Percentage Time and Distance Time and Work Profit and Loss Average Simple and Compound Interest Mensuration (2D and 3D) Algebra Data Interpretation Technical Ability - This is generally the questions that includes the knowledge of the candidates about the profession and some technical questions which may be tricky. Test of Reasoning/Mental Ability/Aptitude: This part usually tries to test the reasoning abilities and Gauges aptitude of the person. It includes the following: VERBAL Number Series Alphabet Series Test of Direction Sense Coding-Decoding Number Ranking Arithmetical Reasoning Problem on Age Calculation Blood Relations Analogy Decision Making etc. NON-VERBAL Non Verbal Series Mirror Images Cubes and Dice Grouping Identical Figures Embedded Figures etc General Intelligence Mechanical : Dimensions, heat, engine, Thermo dynamics, energy, material, energy conservation, Management, Applied Mechanics, Turbo machinery, production engineering, automation engineering, kinetic theory, the strength of the material, Metallurgical, Metal Handling, refrigerators and air conditioned, Transformation of heat, etc. Automobile: machine design, system theory, IC engines, heat transfer, Thermo Dynamics, Materials Applying motion, the power plant turbines and boilers, and Metallurgical Production Technology , etc. Electrical : Electrical India, rolls, cables, transfers, proved to be the fundamental electrical system, an alternative system Single phase motor, three phase motor system, light, magnetism, motors, etc. directed Electronics and Communication : the transistor, Dias, digital electronics, networking and industrial electronics, electronic tube, semi-conductor physics, robotic radio communications systems and satellite matters, computer and micro processor, etc. Plain English : About 10 questions will be asked from this section . Questions such as articles, prepositions, voices, tenses, synonyms, antonyms, etc., from the basic grammar of the Reasoning : such as encoding, after decoding, blood ties, arrangements, calendar and Topics - dates, weeks, classification, analogy, verbal and non-verbal questions are important. Digital section , as candidates, such as time and distance factors, ratios, averages, interest in methods, pictogram-based problems, etc. Exam Pattern: There is single paper in the examination Time duration: 1 hour 30 minutes RRB Exam paper contains 100 to 120 objective type Questions. Each correct answer carries one mark. Each wrong answer deduct 1/3 mark.
