ICAR’s JRF is an All India basis exam for admission to Master Degree course in different State Agricultural Universities, Central Universities and Deemed Universities conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. List of Major Subject Group with Code (Only Important Agricultural MSGs): Code 01: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP A” - PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY Code 02: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “B” - PLANT SCIENCES Code 03: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “C” - PHYSICAL SCIENCE Code 04: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “D” - ENTOMOLOGY AND NEMATOLOGY Code 05: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “E” – AGRONOMY Code 06: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “F” - SOCIAL SCIENCES Code 07: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “G” - STATISTICAL SCIENCES Code 08: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “H” – HORTICULTURE Code 09: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “J” - FORESTRY/AGROFORESTRY & SILVICULTURE Code 11: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “L” - WATER SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Code 12: MAJOR SUBJECT GROUP “M” - HOME SCIENCE Exam Pattern: Total question paper : One Major subject-groups: 20 Question Pattern: 75% Questions from Major Subject Group + 25% Questions from General Agriculture Question type: From Q.(1) to Q.(150) will be Multiple Choice type questions (MCQs) with four answer choice and from Q.(151) to Q.(160) will be Cross-Matching type questions (CMQs). Total Questions: 160 (150 MCQs + 60 CMQs) Maximum marks: 650 for each major subject-group paper. Marking Rules: 1. For each correctly answered MCQs = 4 (four) marks 2. For each correctly answered CMQs = 5 marks (1 mark for each correct pairing) 3. For each incorrectly answered MCQs = - 1 (ONE) mark will be deducted from total marks scored. 4. For each incorrectly pairing answer of CMQs = 0.2 mark will be deducted from total marks scored. 5. For question with no response = 0 Mark (and no negative marking for that question)
