ONGC Exam Syllabus and Books

What is the syllabus of the ONGC Examination? Also suggest some good books for preparation?

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) is one of the largest Asia-based oil and gas exploration and production companies. ONGC Recruitment is based on the written examination and interview.

Syllabus:

Written Exam: Written Exam is divided into two sections.
1. General Awareness
2. Subject Specialization
The written test is of objective type and descriptive questions and duration is of 3 hours to attempt the papers.

The written test comprise of 200 Objective type Questions.
The exam paper consists of three sections:

i) General Awareness

ii) Specialization Subject– Specific to your Discipline. (EE,ECE,ME,CE,IE,CH)

iii) Aptitude – common to all, containing question from following areas:
Comprehension
Reasoning (Verbal/Non-verbal).
Numerical Ability/Quantitative Aptitude.
Data Interpretation.

Preparation Books:

For General Awareness: Arihant GK, Upkar publication, pratiyogita darpan, current affairs of mahendra publication.
Read newspapers, magazines daily for current affairs.

General Awareness Contains the General Knowledge Questions like
Current Affairs,
Present Politics,
Games,
Entertainment,
History,
Geography and
Famous People

Quantitative Aptitude – S chand, RS Agarwal, Dinesh Khattar

English Comprehension – Objective english by Bakshi, Arihant publication, Upkar publication.
