RTO (Regional transport office) examinations are generally conducted by public service commission of each state of India. No, you cannot apply for Assistant Engineer Post in RTO (Regional transport office) Exam after completing Diploma in Mechanical. Assistant Engineer Post Eligibility: 1. One should have passed the Bachelor Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from any recognized university. The minimum marks are: If one belongs to the general or forward class category, minimum marks should be of 60%. If one belongs to SC, ST or OBC categories, minimum marks should be of 50% 2. The age limit for this post is within 21 to 35 years. Age Relaxations If one belongs to the OBC (Other Backward Class) category will get 3 years of age relaxation. If one belongs to SC (Scheduled Caste) or ST (Scheduled Tribe) will get 5 years of age relaxation. If one has a physical disability, will get 10 years of age relaxation If one is an ex-service member, will get 5 years of age relaxation 3. Indian citizen. Selection Process 1. Written examination The syllabus includes general knowledge, state language, English and an optional subject selected by the candidate.
