The Graduate Record Examination is two types;

GRE is of two types

Test I – (GRE General Test)

GRE General Test is consists of three sections:
Analytical Writing
Verbal Test
Quantitative Test

Syllabus of GRE General Test

Analytical Writing
Essay Writing tasks,

The GRE Subject Test-

The GRE Subject test is now divided into following seven major areas of specializations-
Mathematics
Physics
Psychology
Chemistry
Biology
Literature in English
Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a 3.9 hour, multiple-choice, multi-stage test.

GRE is available in two formats:
GRE General Test
GRE Subject Test

GRE Test for general test format is covered in three sections:

Verbal Reasoning:


The Verbal Reasoning section measures a candidate's ability to:
a. Analyse and draw conclusions, understand and add value to incomplete data; identify the perception of the author;
b. Indentify vital points and differentiate between relevant and irrelevant points;
c. Understand and summarise the structure of a text;
d. Understand the meanings of words, sentences and entire texts;
e. Understand relationships among words and among concepts

Quantitative Reasoning


The Quantitative Reasoning section measures a candidate's ability to:
a. Understand and analyse quantitative information
b. Interpret quantitative information correctly
c. Solve problems using mathematical models
d. Apply basic mathematical skills and concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data interpretation.

Analytical Writing


The Analytical Writing section measures a candidate's ability to:
a. Articulate complex ideas effectively and with clarity
b. Support ideas with relevant reasons and examples
c. Examine claims and accompanying evidence
d. Sustain a well-focused, coherent discussion

GRE Test Syllabus for the Subject test format includes subjects :

Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology

Biology

Chemistry

Literature in English

Mathematics

Physics

Psychology
