Here I am giving you information about the GATE examination below :

GATE exam pattern :
GATE 2014 Exam Duration: 3 hours
It is an Online Computer Based Test
A single paper with 65 total questions
Maximum marks are 100
10 questions will be on General Aptitude carrying 15 marks

GATE 2014 would contain questions of two different types in various papers:
(i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carrying 1 or 2 marks each in all papers and sections.
(ii) Numerical Answer Questions of 1 or 2 marks each in all papers and sections.

GATE 2014 Exam Pattern for XE :
Section A: Engineering Mathematics (compulsory)
GA – General Aptitude (compulsory)
Any two of XE sections B to G (see table above):

GATE 2014 Exam Pattern for XL:
Section H – Chemistry (compulsory)
GA – General Aptitude (compulsory)
Any two of XL sections I to M
