The Government of Tamil Nadu established Anna University of Technology (previous name of Anna University) on 4 September 1978 through the The Perarignar Anna University of Technology Act, 1978. It's been ranked 9th best university in India. The university encompasses within it one of the oldest technical institutes in the world and has a history spanning 218 years (As of 2012).

Anna University B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch 2013 Admissions for Other State Candidates:

Eligibility:
Candidates must be Indian citizens but not a native of Tamilnadu.

For B.E/B.Tech:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
The marks in the above subjects will be reduced to 200 (Mathematics 100 & Chemistry + Physics 100) to consider for ranking before applying the normalization method as per guidelines

For B.E/B.Tech:
