The National Institute of Science and Technology was established in 1996. It is managed by the SM Charitable Educational Trust with the mission to "create engineering minds capable of mastering the global challenges of tomorrow's technology". The Institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE under MHRD, Govt of India) and is affiliated to the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT).

MBA Admission:

Programme :
Two year, regular full time campus based Post Graduate programme in management i.e.Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Eligibility
Bachelor's degree from any recognized University or Institution.

Admission Process
Through Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (O-JEE) and All India Management Aptitudes Test (MAT).

Academic Programme
The Academic Programme consists of six 10-12 weeks terms (Trimesters) spread over two years with a Summer Project after the first year as per University syllabus.

MCA Admission:
Admission to the three year Master in Computer Applications (MCA) is through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted each year in May/June by Government of Odisha .
The minimum eligibility for appearing in JEE is pass in +3 with Mathematics at +2 level . Reservation for SC/ST, handicapped, Women, Military, Green Card and outside State Quota is available.
Five percent of the total intake is reserved for NRI/In-lieu of NRI quota.
