ICFAI (Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India )University has launched a chartered financial analysis (CFA) Program for people looking for career opportunities in the investment industry.

Duration and Exam:
It is a three year postgraduate programme, studied through correspondence.
Admission to this course is based on an entrance exam.
This examination basically tests your aptitude for the course.

Eligibility:
-CFA course is opted for by both students and employed executives.
-You must be a Graduate in any discipline.
-Fresh graduates and also students in the final year of the Bachelor Degree course are eligible for the admission test.
-Students with professional qualifications such as CA, CWA, M.S. (Finance), M.A. (Economics), M.S. (Accounting), M. Sc. (Stats) and MBA (Finance) are eligible to get waivers from some papers of the CFA course.

This course deals with the following :
Financial accounting,
Management accounting,
Financial management (both as relevant to India and for the international scene),
Investment management,
Security evaluation,
Project planning,
Venture capital management and credit rating among other things.

The Indian Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) course takes 2 years.

The CFA is awarded by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI). The CFA course focuses on corporate sector, the investment industry and the financial services sector in India.

Eligibility:
Candidate passed graduation degree.


The exam is divided into six groups.

Group A
Financial Accounting - 100 marks
Economics - 100 marks

Group B
Quantitative Methods - 100 marks
Financial Management - 100 marks

Group C
Financial Markets - 100 marks
Financial Statement Analysis - 100 marks

Group D
Equity: Analysis & Valuation - 100 marks
Fixed Income Securities: Analysis & Valuation - 100 marks

Group E
Derivatives: Analysis & Valuation - 100 marks
Portfolio Management - 100 marks

Group F
Mutual and other Funds - 100 marks
Professional Ethics and Case Studies - 100 marks

Following are the sector in which student can apply after CFA.

Banking,
Insurance,
The corporate sector,
Finance
Leasing etc.

Fee Structure: nearly 20,000 to 25,000 per year
