Kinsey Institute was established in Bloomington, Indiana in 1947. Kinsey Institute is an Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction. About John Bancroft John Bancroft is the M.D., director emeritus of The Kinsey Institute. John Bancroft is a world authority on the relationship between reproductive hormones and sexual behavior, and has extensive research experience in fertility control and its relevance to sexual behavior, psychophysiological aspects of male sexual response, and the impact of the menstrual cycle on the sexuality and well-being of women. John Bancroft completed his medical degree from Cambridge University, England; obtained his postgraduate training in psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, London; and was Clinical Reader in Psychiatry at Oxford University from 1969-1976. Awarded for: Award for Distinguished Scientific Achievement, Society for the Scientific Study of Sex; Masters & Johnson Award from the Society for Sex Therapy and Research; Gold Medal of the Polish Academy of Sexological Science; and the Herman Musaph Prize for Sexology, Dutch Psychiatric Association.
