The process of admission to Indian Institutes of Technology is as follows: Admission Process for Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs): Once you've written the JEE Advanced (earlier it was only JEE), its result will be out in a few weeks time about how you've faired in it. The IITs institutes come out with a merit list based on your JEE Advanced scores. Simple five-step process: Online Registration: You have to register at the JEE Advanced Counseling Online Portal. Payment of counseling fees: You need to pay a non-refundable counseling fee of Rs. 1000/- at the time of registration Submission of photocopies of documents to the zonal IITs: Duly filled application form for admission Medical Examination Report Duly attested photocopy of mark sheet and certificate Choice filling: After registration and payment of counseling fee the course allocation is done strictly on the basis of the result of your all India rank (AIR) as well as the courses you've opted for. Counseling and Allotment: If you HAVE been allotted a course, you will have to pay a non-refundable Registration Fee of Rs. 40,000/- (Rs .20,000/- for SC/ST) by a specific date to accept the offer of admission. Once you do the payment of the registration fee, you are given 'provisional' admission |
