The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya proposal was launched by the Government of India in August 2004, then included in the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan program, to provide educational facilities for girls belonging to SC, ST, OBC, minority communities and families below the poverty line in Educationally Backward areas.

Aim

The Aim of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya is to make sure that quality education is realistic and nearby to the girls of underprivileged groups of society by setting up inhabited schools with boarding facilities at elementary level.
