The European Forest Institute (EFI) is an international organization established by the European states. Members Nations: A total of 25 European States had ratified the Convention on EFI, namely: Austria Bulgaria Croatia Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Ireland Italy Latvia Luxembourg Netherlands Norway Poland Portugal Romania Slovak Republic Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey United Kingdom. Research: EFI's mission is to carry out, strengthen, and mobilize forest research and knowledge aimed at following the policy-relevant needs with regard to forests and their governance. The aim of EFI’s research activities is to provide scientific basis for policy support, using applied, integrated and multidisciplinary methods in addressing policy needs at the European level and in different European regions and countries. EFI’s research programmes: Sustainability and Climate Change Foresight and Policy Support Forest for Society These programs are conducted in Regional Offices: EFIMED based in Barcelona, EFIATLANTIC in Bordeaux, EFICEEC-EFISEE in Vienna and in Varaždin, EFINORD in Copenhagen and EFICENT-OEF in Freiburg and in Nancy.
