The UNC Nutrition Research Institute was founded in 2008. It has been awarded more than $26 million in grants and contracts from companies, foundations and the federal government. It is exploring nutritional individuality as it relates to brain development and the prevention of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity.
