Hello! Here I am providing information about the important dates through which you could know about the date when the Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open.

August 2013
12-14 New teacher orientation
14 Fall Sports Begin
15-16 Reading Program training for new teachers
19-22 Opening activities for teachers. (To include the equivalent of 2 teacher workdays) - Aug 20 Professional Development Day
23 Schools closed for teachers
26-28 Conferences for Half-day Pre-K & ECI students. Aug 26 & 27 only for Kindergarten & Full-day Pre-K students.
26 Schools open grades 1-5 and 6 and 9 only *See exceptions below
27 Schools open for students in grades 1 through 12.

Please note that the school names which I am listing here, will open 1 day late (Opening on August 27) due to construction issues.

Annapolis High (Gr. 9 on 8/27; Grs. 10-12 on 8/28)

Central Middle (Gr. 6 on 8/27; Grs. 7-8 on 8/28)

Severn River Middle (Gr. 6 on 8/27; Grs. 7-8 on 8/28)

Southern Middle (Gr. 6 on 8/27; Grs. 7-8 on 8/28)

Crofton Elementary (Grs. 1-5 on 8/27)

Lothian Elementary (Grs. 1-5 on 8/27)

Mills-Parole Elementary (Grs. 1-5 on 8/27)

Phoenix Academy (All students on 8/27)

Point Pleasant Elementary (Grs. 1-5 on 8/27)
