The British Film Institute (BFI) is a charitable group established by Royal Charter to encourage the development of the arts of film, television and the moving image throughout the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1933. Education at BFI Southbank: The institute works to develop peoples’ understanding and appreciation of film, to offer them new experiences of the moving image, and to deepen and extend what they already know about film. Courses MA Modules The BFI currently offers distance learning courses for teachers at all levels of the profession. Digital video production in education The course fee is £990 (home and EU students), £2235 (overseas students). Film theory for teachers The course fee is £990 for home and EU students and £2235 for overseas students. Digital animation and new literacies The course fee is £990 for home and EU students and £2235 for overseas students.
