Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation’s mission is “to provide the most positive experience and best possible outcome for those we serve.” Volunteer: Volunteers can assist in many ways: By helping individuals receiving medical or vocational rehabilitation services, Sunshine carts, Recreational activities, Campus beautification, Occupational aides, and Clerical and administrative support. Volunteers at the Institute do receive certain benefits : Complimentary Meals Membership at the Center for Therapeutic Recreation Annual Health Fair Tax Deductions Education and Career Development Program Recognition Services: Medical: Inpatient Rehabilitation Long Term Acute Care Vocational: Vocational curriculum and work experiences are provided in the following areas: General Worker Readiness Business Education Computer Technology Certified Nursing Assistant Forklift Operation Printing Certified Home Health Aid Horticulture Business Enterprise Program Camp Dream: Some of the features of Camp Dream include: Basil O'Connor Nature Trail (wheelchair accessible) Callaway Lodge and Lanier Lodge Camp Dream Dining Hall Covered Pavilion for Basketball, Volleyball and Social Activities Lake Dream for Canoeing, Fishing, Kayaking, and Paddleboats Swimming Pool and Locker Rooms Recreation: Recreation therapists trained in both land and aquatic instruction direct the classes,the programs also provide social opportunities and motivation for other health improvements.
