The University of South Florida was established on 1956. It is the fourth-largest public university in the state of Florida, with a total enrollment of 47,646 as of the 2012–13 year. It ranks in the top 100 best public schools in the 2012 Best Colleges edition of U.S. News & World Report.

Freshman admission requirements:
Application for Admission
Non-refundable $30 application fee or ACT/SAT application fee waiver
Official high school transcript(s)
Official SAT or ACT scores (including at least one writing score)
Official GED, if applicable
Official IELTS or TOEFL scores, if applicable

Application Deadlines 2013-2014:
January 2 – Deadline to be considered for admissions scholarships
March 1 – Deadline to be considered for financial aid
April 15 – Final application deadline
