Application checklist for the admission to graduate study at the University of Michigan’s Department of History:
- University of Michigan Web-based Graduate Application which is available via the admissions section of the Rackham Graduate School website.
- Your Academic Statement Information Sheet & Academic Statement of Purpose is also require which is part of the online application
- You are required to submit a Personal Statement
-You have to provide a research paper as a writing sample that demonstrates your research interests and academic capabilities, a term paper or an excerpt from a thesis.
-Your admissions file requires three letters which evaluate your past academic performance and potential for graduate study.
-You need to submit the Official Transcripts from all institutions from which you have earned or will earn a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Professional, or Doctoral degree.
- You should hold satisfactory Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score. The University of Michigan institutional code is 1839;
-You must submit proof of English language proficiency (International students only)
- You are required to submit CV or Résumé
