University of Oklahoma College of Medicine was founded in 1900 as a medical department of the University of Oklahoma Departments: Anesthesiology Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Radiation Oncology Radiological Sciences Surgery Urology Geriatric Medicine Harold Hamm Diabetes Center Cell Biology Dermatology Family and Preventive Medicine Pediatrics Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center Physiology Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Internal Medicine Microbiology & Immunology Neurology Neurosurgery Obstetrics & Gynecology Oklahoma Center for Neuroscience Ophthalmology Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Otorhinolaryngology Pathology Admission Requirements: -The Oklahoma State Board of Regents for Higher Education mandates that at least 75 percent of an entering class must be Oklahoma residents. -Over the past ten years, matriculating students have entered medical school with an average grade point of 3.70 and an MCAT average of 9.80. -The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education require that all applicants be U.S. citizens or hold a permanent visa - Must have a minimum of 90 semester hours. - The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education require that all applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better and a MCAT average of 7.0 or better The following courses are required with a letter grade of "C" or better: 1 semester General Zoology/Biology with Laboratory 1 semester Genetics, Cellular Biology, or Molecular Biology (your choice) 2 semesters General Chemistry 2 semesters Organic Chemistry 2 semesters Physics 3 semesters Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology, or Humanities (any combination) 2 semesters English In addition, it is recommended applicants take the following courses: 1 semester Biochemistry 1 semester A writing-intensive English course Admission timeline: - Application will begin after one year in advance of desired matriculation -Latest MCAT accepted is from September of application year -Deadline for application to AMCAS is October 15th -Deadline for supplemental material is November 1st -Interviews are conducted the fall/winter prior to matriculation Address: Admissions Office University of Oklahoma College of Medicine 941 Stanton L.
