The Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI) was started in the year 1949.

The Campus is having l6-room Guest House-cum-Hostel with a dining hall and a meeting room for meeting the requirements of visiting officials and trainees.

A seven room building at Machhri is serving as field lab-cum-stores for the seed production unit.
