1>History= GCERT std 11 and 12.

2>geography= GCERT std 11 and 12, Oxford students atlas, MAPS(world, india).

3>Constitution= INDIAN POLITY by M LAXMIKANT

4>MATHS = Quantitative Aptitude by R S Agarwal

5> Reasoning = online study material from bankersadda.

6>Central and state government schemes by Vision IAS

7>Science and Technology= material from VISION IAS, websites of DRDO & ISRO. Current events about ISRO, DRDO, Nobel and other prices. read Pratiyogita Darpan last 8 editions.

8> Economics= To understand basic static economics read INDIAN ECONOMY by Ramesh sharma. Questions will be from current events only. Read Pratiyogita Darpan(monthly magazine) atleast last 8 editions. Economic survey(only Review).

9>Newspaper = The hindu, Times of India, Divya bhaskar , Navgujarat Samay.

10>Magazines= Pratiyogita Darpan, Yojana(available in GUJARATI AND ENGLISH) , Kurukshetra.

Phase II: GPSC Syllabus Class I for Mains Exam
For the Written Examination, there are basically six papers in GPSC Main Examination i.e. Gujarati, English, Essay, General Studies Paper 1, General Studies Paper 2 & General Studies Paper 3. Total marks assigned to Written Examination is 900. Based on the marks obtained in the Mains Examination by the Candidates are declared qualified for admission to the Interview Test (100 Marks).

Essay
This paper is designed to test candidate s (i) knowledge/awareness of a variety of Subjects and (ii) their ability to compose a sustained piece of writing in the form of an essay. The candidates are required to attempt 3-5 Essays. (About 300 or 500 words each.)

Areas of Testing: This paper would test the following:

1. Ability to compose a well-argued piece of writing

2. Ability to express coherently and sequentially

3. Awareness of the subject chosen

Evaluation / Marking: Credit will be given for the following:

1. Observing established rules and format for essay writing
