Smt.Veeramma Gangasiri college of Arts, Science, Commerce and Home Science for woman, is the first and only college in the entire region of Hyderabad Karnataka area. It was established in the year 1965 by Hyderabad Karnataka Education society. The college, is affiliated to Karnataka State Women’s University Bijapur and also Board of Pre-University Education, Bangalore.

18% of seats in the college are reserved for students belonging to scheduled castes, Tribes, Nomadic Tribes, and semi Nomadic Tribes etc.

The students admitted to the degree courses after passing the qualifying examination from other universities or recognized by the K.S.W.U. Bijapur, shall require to obtain eligibility certificate from the K.S.W.U.Bijapur.
