Hello sir, I have passed 12th class exam from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), now can I take admission in any medical colleges for MBBS study in regular basis? In shortly I want to know that, is National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) 12th class certificate value equal to all other education board like CBSE?

Ans: On the basis of 12th marksheet of NIOS you can apply for MBBS course. Sr. Secondary certificate obtained form NIOS have the same recognition as certificates issued by other Boards like CBSE and CISCE in India.

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an autonomous organization (central educational board) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of the Government of India in 1989. NIOS is equivalent to other boards like CBSE and ICSE. NIOS is vested with the authority to conduct Public Examinations at Secondary and Sr. Secondary level vide Govt. Of India’s resolution dated 14 September 1990. NIOS(National Institute Of Open University) is a part of central university. It itself is a university recognised by the central government. Its all degree will be valid for all purpose. It provides of class 10 and class 12 through distance education. It does not need recognition from any other university.

You want to know value of NIOS certificate so National Institute of Open Schooling is an autonomous organization which was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India in 1989 to provide education inexpensively to remote areas. Certificate of The Secondary/Sr.Secondary obtained form NIOS have the same recognition as certificates issued by other Boards like CBSE and CISCE in India. NIOS conduct Public Examinations at Secondary and Sr. Secondary level vide Govt. Of India’s resolution dated 14 September 1990. The Public Examinations (Board Examinations) are held twice a year in the months of April-May and October-November.
