CDS Last Date of Exam

Hi buddy, I want to appear in CDS (combined defence services) exam in this year, so would you tell me that when it will be conducted and what is the last date for apply for combined defence Services exam?

Combined Defense Services (CDS) examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy.

Those who are unmarried and have completed their graduation are eligible to sit for the exam. Successful applicants are admitted into the respective academies after an interview is conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

CDS 2015 Exam Dates:-
CDS Exams are conducted twice a year i.e. in the month of February and November and the notification for the exam is usually released in the months of October and June every year.

C.D.S. EXAM.(II), 2015 Date:-
Date of Commencement of Exam:- 01.11.2015 (Sunday)

CDS 2016 Date:-

C.D.S. EXAM.(I), 2016 - 14.02.2016 (Sunday)

C.D.S. EXAM.(II), 2016 - 23.10.2016 (Sunday)

Educational Qualification:-

• For IMA and Officer's Training Academy:- Graduate Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

• For Indian Naval Academy: - Graduate Engineering Degree from a recognized university or institution.

• For Air Force Academy:- Graduate Degree from a recognized university (with Physics and Chemistry as subjects in 10+2) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Those studying in the final year of degree course and are yet to pass the final degree examination are eligible to apply for CDS 2015.

CDS Exam pattern:-

CDS Exam Pattern shall consist of
a) Written examination
b) Interview and personality test

CDS Paper Pattern:-

The subjects of the written exam and the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject is as follows

For Admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy

General Knowledge 2 Hours 100
Elementary Mathematics 2 Hours 100

For Admission to Officers Training Academy

Subject Duration Maximum Marks
English 2 Hours 100
General Knowledge 2 Hours 100

One needs to keep in mind that there is penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
