The University of Kansas Hospital is a world-class academic medical center for complex care and diagnosis located in Kansas City. ATLS was developed to trained doctors one reliable ,safe, method for assessing and initially managing trauma patient. American College of Surgeons, ATLS offers a concise approach to the early care of the trauma patient. CME is provided. Nurses may audit. Offers a foundation of common knowledge for all trauma team members Emphasizes the critical first hour of care, focusing on initial assessment, lifesaving intervention, reevaluation, stabilization and transfer to a trauma center when needed We provide student provider, refresher and instructor courses throughout the year. Trauma Lecture Series CME, nursing CEs and EMS CEs are provided. This monthly one-credit hour lecture focuses on various trauma topics. Topics in Trauma CME, nursing CEs and EMS CEs are provided. This lecture series focuses on various trauma topics and is held twice a year. The format is either 4 or 8 hours. Trauma Nursing Core Course TNCC was developed by the Emergency Nurses Association as a means of identifying a standardized body of trauma nursing knowledge for national and international dissemination. TNCC strives to present core-level knowledge, refine skills and build a firm foundation in trauma nursing. The 16-hour provider course is designed to provide registered nurses with cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills. The 7.5-credit hour refresher provides registered nurses with a brief TNCC review and re-affirmation.
