According to Times Of India one of its students bagging a mammoth Rs 72 lakh annual salary package last year during the campus placement drive.

Placements at IIT Kharagpur have started with a bang. Three students have bagged salaries of Rs 80 lakh per annum.

Last year, the highest salary offered at IIT-Kgp was Rs 78 lakh from Facebook, while in 2010, Dhiraj Kumar Singh had bagged a Rs 1.7 crore

The top offer thus far is an annual package of $150,000 (Rs 81.6 lakh) from South Korean multinational conglomerate Samsung.

Generally the packages offered to the IIT Graduated are very high. Sometimes it reaches in crore for the computer science students.
The software companies like Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google offer these types of packages.

High packages

At an average, 17 Lakhs was offered by known software firm like Samsung India and Xerox. Financial companies like merican Express, Nomura, Axis Securities and Capital One picked up several students from the Powai campus and the average annual salary stood at Rs12.5 lakh.

Two students of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur got Rs 1.20 cr package during the placement drive.

5 boys of IIT Bombay got a salary offer of 5 million yen (around Rs 30 lakh). This was amongst the highest international offers from MEC Japan.
