The Domestic Energy Assessment program aims to develop the career progression with the Property industry. It develops the candidate’s skills and understanding for assessing the energy performance of homes. It provides the technical knowledge to the candidates. Training Structure: Day One Introduction to the programme, Energy Efficiency, Introduction to Health and Safety Legislation followed by Basics of Residential Construction. Day Two Domestic Heating and Hot Water, Property Ageing, Flats and EPC recommendations. Day Three Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure (RDSAP) Inspection Requirements, Practical Visit and use of the software (NES one). Day Four Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure (RDSAP) Inspection Requirements continued, Practical Visit and Data Entry. Day Five Accompanied Inspection - a property visit carried out under exam conditions. This training programme has been designed for those either wishing to become Domestic Energy Assessors or who wish to progress to qualify as Home Inspectors. Energy assessment is an essential component of the Domestic Energy Assessor/Home Inspectors skills and the SWAAT new entrant training and assessment programme has been configured to allow candidates to achieve the Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment at an interim stage. Eligibility : Candidates whose current employment provides experience of relevance to Units 1 and 2 of the Diploma in respect of working in an effective and professional manner and contributing to the safety and security of people and property. The course is designed on the basis that they have no relevant knowledge of or experience in carrying out domestic energy assessments before starting the programme. Course content : Workshop 1 - Introduction to Diploma and Portfolio Building; Provides candidates with all they need to get underway with the assessment process for the Diploma Workshop 2 - House Construction, Survey, Heating and Controls/RDSAP Methodology Helps candidates develop their knowledge base and identification skills. Provides candidates with the understanding of the methodology and the associated conventions that they need to undertake a Domestic Energy Assessment.
