The Iowa State University College of Engineering and the College of Business offer a concurrent program, Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. The Engineering/MBA program reduces one year by the normal time period required for completing both degrees separately. At the present scenario a successful engineers also required a strong business management skills to complement their degree in engineering. The Engineering/MBA concurrent degree program provide the opportunity to combined study in engineering and business management. Duration: five academic years or ten semesters. In the first six semesters complete the general education requirements and the remaining four semesters combine the engineering and the MBA courses. Preparing for the Engineering/MBA: The Engineering students who are interested in doing the MBA need to express excellent academic performance throughout their undergraduate program. Selection Procedure: The Engineering/MBA concurrent degree program is open to only those students who are currently enrolled in Iowa State University and completed their three years engineering degree program majoring in aerospace, agricultural, biological systems,civil, computer, electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering. The Students who want to join this program are expected to show their intellectual ability, strong leadership attributes. The students also earn GPA of 3.50 or above and have scored 650 or higher on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). Applying to the Engineering/MBA: The students apply for the Engineering/MBA concurrent degree program by March 15 of their junior year.
