Yes, commerce students can also apply for Navy Exams.

Here I am providing you Eligibility criteria.

Nationality:

Applicant must be Indian citizen.

Applicant's date of birth should fall between 02 July 1995 and 01 January 1998 both dates are included.

For date of birth proof, UPSC will consider matriculation certificate only. No other documents are considered by the commission.

Applicant should submit the academic certificates after being shortlisted for SSB interviews.

Age Limit:

A candidate for this examination must not have attained the age of 21 years as on 1st January, 2013,

Physical Standards:

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Engineering Service Examination, 2013

Educational qualifications required

In order to apply for Army wing of National Defence Academy, applicant must have passed 10+2 in any stream.

For Air Force Academy and Navy wings of NDA, candidate should have Mathematics and Physics subjects in his 10+2 exam.

Candidates who are studying in second year of 10+2 exam are also eligible to apply for NDA & NA exam (II).

For Naval Academy also applicant must have studied Physics and Maths at 10+2 level.

A commerce student can join Navy through AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) for entry in air force only after Graduation. This test is conducted by the Indian Air Force for selection of officers in all branches of the IAF (except medical and dental) viz. Flying Branch (Short Service Commission only), Technical Branch (Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission) and Ground Duty Branch (Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission).

AFCAT is conducted twice a year (in the month of February and August). The advertisement for the same is published in the months of December and June respectively. You can just apply for its Accounts Branch.

Accounts Branch
Permanent Commission (for Men) / Short Service Commission (for Men & Women)

Responsible for efficient financial management of funds.You will also act as internal auditor to ensure a zero-defect audit from outside agencies.

Educational Qualifications:-


Graduate Degree in Commerce (B Com) with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

OR

Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (M Com) / CA / ICWA with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.

AFCAT Syllabus:-

Following is the syllabus for AFCAT 2015 Syllabus:-

General Awareness: History Sports Geography Environment Civics Basic Science Defence Art Culture Current Affairs Politics

Verbal Ability in English: Comprehension Error Detection Sentence Completion Synonyms Antonyms Testing of Vocabulary

Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Simplification Average Profit & loss Percentage Ratio & Proportion Simple interest Reasoning and Military

Aptitude Test: Verbal Skills Spatial Ability

AFCAT Paper Pattern:-

•The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each.
•For every correct answer you will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking.
•The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.
