Re: what happens if i dont submit NIOS TMA?
The National Institute of Open Schooling NIOS follows learner centric approach of teaching through Open and Distance mode. It offers a wide range of subjects in comparision to any other formal school. The learners are free to choose subject combination as per their needs and goals. No, it is not compulsory to submit TMA (Tutor Mark Assignment) for passing the SR secondary course offered by The National Institute of Open Schooling NIOS. Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) is meant to help one to learn and be a successful learner. They provide practice in writing answers to questions and get feedback. The assignments will therefore help to monitor ones progress in studies. These assignments are available in a separate booklet, which is provided to the learners through their AIs. TMA (Tutor Mark Assignment) carries a weightage of 20% in overall marks per subject, if one doesnt submit TMA, it will be marked as absent on mark sheet and those 20% marks will become zero. Absent is marked in the mark sheet if the assignments are not submitted on time in the column for grades of TMAs. Subject to TMA being made compulsory and the relative grading in TMA being shown in the final certificate and the separate column (Grade obtained in TMA).

Re: what happens if i dont submit NIOS TMA?
I am student of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and want some details about TMA. Will you tell what happens if I dont submit NIOS TMA also tell what the examination fees? The NIOS is a National Board for Secondary and Senior Secondary Examinations similar to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). About NIOS TMA: TMA carries a weightage of 20% in your overall marks per subject, if you don't submit your TMA, it will be marked as absent on your mark sheet and those 20% will become Zero. TMA is not required to pass the exam but if you didn't submit your TMA then NIOS will mark absent against your TMA marks and due to this many colleges may not give you admission for higher studies Public Examination Fees The examination fee is payable by all. It is same for both Secondary and Senior Secondary courses as shown in the Table below: Examination fees both for Secondary and Sr. Secondary Rs. 250/- per subject Additional fees for practicals in subjects having both theory and practicals Rs. 120/- per subject Late fee for examination Rs. 100/- per subject Consolidate late fee to be received at Regional Centres only Rs. 1500/- consolidated Processing fees for Re-evaluation of answer sheet for Sr. Secondary Public Examination Rs. 800/- per subject Processing fees for Re-evaluation of answer sheet for Sr. Secondary of On Demand Examination Rs. 1000/- per subject Verification of NIOS documents (for private companies and individual learners) Rs. 500/- per candidate Contact: National Institute of Open Schooling A-24/25, Institutional Area, Sector - 62, NOIDA Distt.
