MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) course is 5.5 years undergraduate degree with 4.5 years of course study and 1 year of mandatory internship in various fields of medicine.

MBBS Eligibility Criteria

The MBBS eligibility criteria for MBBS entrance exams and MBBS admission is as follows –

The basic requirement for MBBS admission and entrance exam in India is Class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks. The students must have studied Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects in Class 12.

The lower age limit for MBBS admission and entrance exam in India is 17 years while the upper age limit is 25 years.

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is the authority for conducting MBBS admissions through NEET-UG

However, MCC conducts MBBS admission process through NEET for 15% AIQ (All India Quota) seats. Students competing for AIQ MBBS admissions are eligible to get admission in any medical college across the country. For 85% of MBBS seats, state governments conduct MBBS admission process.
