Selection Process: Selection process in M.Tech course is held through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by the M.S. University of Baroda, Varodara on behalf of AICTE, New Delhi.

Important dates:
Last date for receipt of completed application form Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

Notification of shortlisted candidates to be called for interview on IIT (BHU): Friday, May 31, 2013.

Date of Interview/Written Test: Monday – Friday,June 17 – 21, 2013.

The admissions to the post graduate or M Tech. course in Mechanical at Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) is done through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by the seven IITs and IISc Bangalore on behalf of national coordinating board GATE Department of education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.

List of shortlisted candidates based on the GATE score come for the written-test/interview/counseling at the scheduled time, date and place for admission.

The candidate must bring the following at the time of counseling:
1. Attested copy of Original GATE Score Card
2. Attested copy of Original Date of Birth certificate.
3. Attested copy of Original Qualifying Degree Examination. In case the result is not declared, you will have to submit the appearing certificate.
4. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC, Physically Handicapped Certificate in Original, if applicable.
5. Letter of recommendation in Original from the Head of the Department/Institute last attended, if not already submitted.
6. Medical/Fitness Certificate in Original, if not already submitted.
