Riverside County was established from some portions of San Bernardino and San Diego Counties on the day May 9, 1893. The Sheriff's Office was a one-person operation in the early history of the county.

Right now, Sheriff is responsible for roughly 7,300 square miles, spreading over 200 miles in length and it covers 50 miles in width. This is fourth largest County in the state of California.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is second largest of its Department in California, with a staff of total 4,000 men and women.

The Riverside Sheriff having partnership with public, its main aim is to protect the public by minimization and prevention of crime. It includes the investigation and enforcement of violations of federal and state laws along with local ordinances in a fair and reasonable manner. It also maintains the county’s jails and prisoners.

Application and selection of candidates is based upon successful completion some essential assessments including:

• Online Pre-Screen Questionnaire
• Written Examination
• Physical Agility Test (PAT)
• Medical Examination, including a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
• Extensive Background Investigation, including interview
• Completion of a Background Packet
• Pre-Employment Psychological Assessment
• Polygraph Examination

Riverside County Sheriff's was founded in May 9, 1893, it is a law enforcement agency in Riverside County and it was created from portions of San Bernardino and San Diego Counties.

For taking admission in Riverside County Sheriff applicants will have to give Entrance Exam….

Entrance exam pattern;
The written examination is an aptitude and biometric assessment to evaluate an individual’s fit for a career in law enforcement.

The examination consists of 2 sections: a 10 minute, timed vocabulary test; and an untimed section, containing 225 questions based on you, your personality, past experiences, and additional questions of this nature. This examination typically takes approximately 2 hours to complete, and there is no study guide available to prepare.

After written test applicants will have to give:

Physical Agility Test (PAT)
Medical Examination, including a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
Extensive Background Investigation, including interview
Completion of a Background Packet
Pre-Employment Psychological Assessment
Polygraph Examination

The test results on the written examination are valid for one (1) year from the date of the examination
