Yeah, you can apply for Indian Administrative Service IAS Officer post after B.Tech Civil Engineer.

To become Indian Administrative Service IAS Officer, you have to clear IAS exam of Union Public Service Commission UPSC.

Indian Administrative Services Exam is conducted by central body Union Public Service Commission every year in the month of May to selected candidates in the Central Government and its various departments.

IAS Exam Eligibility

Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university. Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognised by the government are also eligible.

Candidates appearing in final year of graduation can also apply.

Candidates who have passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical degree Examination but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Examination.

There is no minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination is (Pass only) required to be eligible for taking IAS Exam.

Age Limits:

Age must be between 21 year to 30 years

The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of the SC/ST and other backward classes.

Nationality:

For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India
For other services, a candidate must be either:

A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India. or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. These candidates will not be eligible for appointment to the Indian Foreign Service.

IAS Exam Syllabus

IAS Preliminary Examination would consist of two papers- Paper I and Paper II.

Paper 1 (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.

Current events of national and international importance
History of India and Indian national movement
Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization
General science.

Paper 2 (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.

Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)

The written examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type in the selected subjects for main examination.

Each paper is of 3 hours duration.

I have done B.Tech Civil Engineer and no I want to become Indian Administrative Service IAS Officer so can I eligible for this?

Yes of course, you can become IAS officer after civil Engineering. For this you need to appear in the Civil Services Examination (CSAT) which is conducted by the UPSC.

Required qualification:
The candidate must hold a degree of any Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India

Age Limits
Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August

Nationality:
A candidate must be a citizen of:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
