Dear Mr. Madan Mohan,

You have not mentioned what is your present educational background and for what kind of higher education you want to go to Netherland. In Netherlands regular higher education is mainly of two types:
(i) Higher professional education
(ii) University education

While the students at the research oriented universities are trained for the independent practice of work, the universities of professional education i.e. Hogescholen (as these are called in Dutch) have a practical approach and students are taught for specific career. International students are offered specially designed courses by the International Education institutes.

The institutes of International education in Netherlands offer advanced courses. These courses are taught in English medium both at the regular universities and the universities of professional education at various levels, which cover a wide range of fields, especially management studies, agricultural sciences, medicine, civil engineering, remote sensing, and the arts. There are in total 11 institutions of international education in the country.

The preparations for admission in Netherland should start at least a year before the start of academic session. If you are to apply for any kind of scholarship and also for visa, then you should start preparing even earlier. The academic year in Netherlands runs from the end of August to the middle to June.

The Master's programmes are all taught in English language. If your first language is English and / or if you have a university degree in English Literature, then you will be exempted to provide an English language test score. Otherwise you are required to take one of the following English language tests either in your own country or in
Netherlands.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) .

TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign Language)

Cambridge EFL Examinations

Minimum English language test scores include:

IELTS: 6.5 (and 6.0 for Writing module)
TOEFL paper test: 580
TOEFL computer test: 237
TOEFL (Internet Test: 93)
Cambridge EFL Advanced English: B
Cambridge EFL Proficiency in English: C
