University of Pune, one of the premier universities was established in 10th February, 1948 under the Poona University Act.

Pune University offers Ph.D Programs in Arts, Fine Arts and Performing Arts, Management, Medicine, Physical Education, Ayurvedic, Pharmaceuticals, Law, Commerce, Science Departments.

Pune University entrance exam will be conducted in the second week of June, the result of which will be released in the third week of June 2020.

PG Admission dates:
Commencement of online application forms First week of May 2020
Last date to fill the application form Last week of May 2020
Release of the Admit Card 5 days prior to the exam
Entrance exam Second week of June 2020
Announcement of the results Third week of June 2020
Release of the merit list Second week of July 2020

List of PG courses offered along with eligibility:

M.A/ M.Sc Anthropology
Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline

Integrated 5 yr Master of Science M.Sc. Biotechnology
Candidate must have completed 10+2 level science Examination from any recognized board in India with a minimum of 60 per cent in case of general candidates and 55 per cent in case of SC/ST candidates

M.Sc Bioinformatics
Candidates must have completed their B.Sc. B.Sc. (Agri.) B.C.S. B.E. B. Tech. M.B.B.S. B. Pharm B.A.M.S. B.H.M.S. B.V. Sc. First class with minimum 60 percent marks or Grade A with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on the scale of 0-10
Second class with minimum 55 percent marks or Grade B with a minimum CGPA of 5.5 on the scale of 0-10

M.Sc Botany
Candidates must have completed their B. Sc. Botany, B. Sc. Life Sciences with Botany as subsidiary subject with minimum of 50 percent
In case of general candidates and 45 percent marks in case of SC/ST candidates

M.Sc Chemistry
Candidates must have completed their B.Sc. Chemistry B.Sc. Biochemistry with minimum 50 percent for general candidates and SC/ ST candidates must score a minimum of 45 percent marks

M.Com
Candidates must have completed B.Com, B.B.A, BCA, BBM(IB) Examination of Pune University or any other recognized University with minimum 50 percent marks for general candidates and 45 percent marks for SC/ST candidates

M.Com (E-commerce)

M.A Economics
Candidates must be a graduate in any Subject 55 percent marks for general category and 50 percent marks for SC/ST category

M.A English
Candidate must be a graduate specialized in English Literature only with minimum 50 percent marks for general category and 45 percent for SC/ST category

M.Sc Environmental Studies
Candidates must have completed their B. Sc. in environmental studies or Equivalent with minimum 50 percent marks for general category and 45 percent for SC/ST category

M.A/ M.Sc Geography
Candidate must have completed their B.A/ B.Sc Geography with 50 percent marks for general category and 45 percent marks for SC/ST category

M.Sc Geology
Candidates must have completed B.Sc. Geology with 50 percent marks. Candidate belonging to SC/ST category must score minimum 45 percent marks.

M.A/ M.Sc Mathematics
For M.Sc Mathematics candidates must complete B.Sc Mathematics Or Mathematics at least up to second year B.E./B.Tech. / B.Sc.

For M. A. Mathematics candidate must complete B.A. Mathematics (special or subsidiary) 50 percent. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category must score 45 percent marks aggregate

M.Sc Microbiology
Candidate must be a graduate in B.Sc.Microbiology or must have completed B.Sc. Microbiology at subsidiary level in third year for candidates passing from other University with minimum 50 percent aggregate for general category students and 45 percent for SC/ST category

M.Sc Physics
B.Sc. Degree in Physics, Electronic Science, Chemistry & Mathematics .Candidates with engineering degree B.E./B.Tech/B.S. Mathematics at S.Y. level of B.Sc.is essential.

M.A/ M.Sc Statistics
Candidate must complete their B.A./B.Sc.(Statistics) or B.A./B.Sc.(Actuarial Statistics) or B.A./B. Sc. (Triple major with Statistics as one of the subjects in every year) or M.A./M.Sc. (Mathematics) or B.A./B.Sc.( Mathematics with statistics as a subsidiary subject) with minimum 50 percent for general category and 45 percent for SC/ST category.

M.Sc Zoology

For B. Sc. Graduates of Pune University (Maharashtra Domicile) with Zoology as principal subject
Admission will be based on compilation of marks at B.Sc. Zoology (S.Y. & T.Y.) {50% weightage} and performance in entrance Exam. {50% weightage}

Admission will be based on performance in Entrance Examination only.

M.A History
Candidates must complete B.A. History with minimum 50 percent for general students and 45 percent for SC/ST category students

M.A Sociology
Candidates must complete their Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
Or Graduate Degree in any Social Science discipline.
