Islamic University of Science and Technology was established in 2005.
It is affiliated by UGC, AICTE, AIMA, and AIU.

University has mainly two centers:

Rinchen Shah Center for West Himalayan Cultures
and
Mantaqi Center for Science and Society

The School of Technology (SoT) comprises more than 20 lecture theatres, 22 modern well established laboratories, workshops, fully networked computer laboratories with internet access of 100MBPS and online power backup for uninterrupted academic work.

Department of Electrical Engineering:

The under graduate study in Electrical Engineering includes fundamentals of Electrical Engineering embedded with Electrical Machines, Power System, Power Electronics, Control, Electronics, Communication, Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence. In the lower semesters, basic courses such as basic Electrical Engineering

Circuit Analysis are offered for building the foundation blocks.

In the higher semesters advance courses such as Advanced Control System, Advanced Power System (FACTs, HVDC, Power Quality, Protection and Transients), Power Electronics and applications are offered.
