As per your request here I am sharing the MPSC Preliminary and Main Examination Syllabus

Preliminary Examination Syllabus


Paper I - (200 marks)

(1) Current events of state, national and international importance
(2) History of India (with special reference to Maharashtra) and Indian National Movement
(3) Maharashtra, India and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of Maharashtra, India and the World
(4) Maharashtra and India - Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj,Urban
Governance, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc
(5) Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc
(6) General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change-that do not require subject specialisation
(7) General Science

Paper II - (200 marks)

(1) Comprehension
(2) Interpersonal skills including communication skills
(3) Logical reasoning and analytical ability
(4) Decision - making and problem - solving
(5) General mental ability
(6) Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation(Charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.- Class X level)
(7) Marathi and English Language Comprehension skills (Class X/XII level)

Main Examination Syllabus –

There shall be six compulsory papers.
Two in Languages - English and Marathi
00 Marks Each, Descriptive type questions

Four papers of General Studies

General Studies

Paper I
History & Geography (in reference to Maharashtra)

Paper II
Indian constitution & Law, Politics (with reference to Maharashtra)

Paper III
Human Resource Development and Human Rights

Paper IV
Economy & Planning, Economics of development & Agriculture, Science & technology development

Maharashtra Public Service Commission has issued recruitment notification for filling the 282 Posts of Assistant Conservator of Forest and Forest Guard vacancies.

Maharashtra PSC Recruitment 2014 complete vacancy details:

Total No of vacancies: 282
Name of Posts:
Assistant Conservator of Forest: 10 posts
Forest Guard: 272 posts

Eligible criteria:

Educational Qualification:

You should have done Degree in relevant Discipline or its equivalent qualification from a recognized university.

Age details:
Your age should be between 18 years to 33 years as on date 01-06-2014.
Age relaxation will be applicable as per govt. norms.

Application Fee:
General & OBC Applicants are required to pay fee Rs.265/-
SC/ ST/PWD Applicants need to pay fee Rs. 140
Ex-serviceman Candidates are requited to pay fee Rs.15/-

Pay Scale:
Rs. 9,300 to Rs. 34,800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4400/-.

Selection Process:
Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Interview.

The syllabus of Maharashtra Agriculture Services, Group-A & B (Pre) & (Main) Examination conducted by MPSC (Maharashtra Public Service Commission) is as follows:

Paper I (Compulsory )

AGRICULTURE SCIENCE (Code No. 015)

( 1) AGRONOMY (MARKS : 80)
(I) Principles of Agronomy :-
Agronomy :
Its definition, Scope, and role of Agronomist in agriculture.

Classification of Crops :
Agriculture seasons in India and in Maharashtra. Factors affecting crop production.

Tillage :
Factors affecting tillage, type of tillage operations, tillage implements. Effects of tillage on soil and crop growth. Modern concepts of tillage.

Seed :
Qualities of good seed, types of seed, seed testing and seed treatment, different methods of
sowing, optimum plant population and geometry. Classification of Seeds.
Cropping systems : Types of cropping systems, crop rotations, relay cropping

Weeds :
Definition, methods of weed control, integrated weed management concept.
(II) Agriculture meteorology :
Definition of meteorology, weather and climate elements of weather. Temperature measurement, factors affecting temperature. Solar radiation, significance of solar radiation in agriculture. Factors affecting solar radiation, measurement of solar radiation. Atmosphere pressure its measurement, variation of pressure with height, hydrological cycle. Drought climatology, classification of draught, weather forecasting in agriculture, its classification, techniques of weather forecasting Forecasting network in India.


(III) Irrigation water management :
Soil water: Sources of water, absorption and movement of water in soil, soil moisture
constants, forms of soil water, factors affecting available soil moisture. Absorption of soil moisture by plant. Factors affecting absorption, evaporation, transpiration, consumptive use and effective rainfall
Irrigation: Water requirement, irrigation requirement of crops, factors affecting water requirement, scheduling of irrigation - different approaches. Depth of irrigation, measurement of irrigation, water use efficiency.

Drainage : Importance of drainage, types of drainage. Effect of bad drainage on soil and crop
growth.
