I want to give the entrance exam for admission to MCA from Pune University. Please give me the last dates for submission of application form as well as the other formalities for admissions.

Pune University conducts an entrance examination for admission to MCA and MSc (Computer Science) courses in various institutes under Pune University. It offers MCA and MSc (Computer Science) course in a number of institutes throughout the state of Maharashtra. The interested students need to work hard to clear this exam.

Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in science (or BCA) with Maths at 10+2 level and for MSc (Computer Science) a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Those in the final year of their graduation can also apply.

How to apply:
The candidates have to apply online through the website. Whenever the admission portal opens the candidates have to fill in the required details. The payment can be done through credit card/demand draft.

Last date of receiving completed application form: second week of February, 2011

Pattern of Entrance examination:
The entrance examination consists of multiple choice (objective type) questions from the following sections: Mathematics, General Aptitude and English language.

the syllabus for the Mathematics exam is

Set theory: Set operations, relations, functions.
Propositional logic: Formulation, deduction, evaluation, puzzles.
Linear Algebra: Solution of a system of linear equations. Determinant and inverse of a matrix, basic properties of matrices
Co-ordinate Geometry and Conic Sections: Equations of lines and planes, vector products; definitions and properties of conic sections.
Trigonometry: Identities, computation of heights and lengths.
Differential Calculus: Total and partial differentiation, limit of a function.
Integral Calculus: Definite and indefinite integrals, solution of differential equations, computation of areas and volumes.
Series and sequences: sum, mean, convergence, limit.
Real and complex numbers: surds, solution of equations on complex domain.
Polynomials: solution of quadratic equations, properties of roots of polynomials with real coefficients, binomial expansion, Taylor series.
Permutations and Combinations
Elementary Probability Theory: Computing probability from combinatorial reasoning, conditional probability.

After filling the online application form, candidates will have to take the print out of the same and the print out of the application form along with the demand draft and all other required documents should be submitted to the head, department of computer science, university of Pune, Ganeshkhind, Pune-411007

Admission procedure:
Each candidate is to take an entrance test and the type of Questions in the exam paper is related from Mathematics, General Aptitude and English Language. The candidates must be selected by the test and on personal interview, the candidates are selected.
