Optics is the branch of physics that studies the behaviour and properties of light, including its interactions with matter and the construction of instruments that use or detect it.

Optics usually describes the behaviour of visible, ultraviolet, and infrared light

Basics of optics:

Centre of curvature - Centre of the sphere of which mirror is a part.

Pole - Centre of the mirror surface.

Principal Axis - Line which connects Centre of curvature and Pole.

Principal Focus - It is the point on the principal axis of a mirror or lens to which parallel rays of light converge or from which they appear to diverge after reflection or refraction.
