I would like to tell you that Common Admission Test (CAT) does not have listening section, to clear your about I will gather detailed information for you.

Here is the syllabus

Quantitative Ability (QA)
Geometry, Trigonometry, Probability, Number System, Permutation & Combination, Speed, Time and Distance, Profit and Loss, Logarithmic Equations, HCF and LCM, Ratio, Quadratic and Linear Equations, Algebra, Mensuration, Percentages, progressions, Complex Numbers, Simple and Compound Interest etc.

Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning
Tables, Graphical Representations, Charts and any diagrammatical Representation, Logical Games, Calendars, Cubes, Clocks, Blood Relations, Seating Arrangements etc.

Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Critical Reasoning, Paragraph Forming, Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension

Eligibility
The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST and PWD/DA category).

Percentage obtained in bachelor’s degree would be calculated on the basis of practice followed by the concerned university/institution. In case of grades/CGPA, the conversion would be based on the process defined by the concerned university/ institution.

In absence of any percentage conversion scheme, candidate’s CGPA will be divided by maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification are also eligible to apply for CAT.

Reservation

15% - Seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC)
7.5% - Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates
27% - Seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the non - creamy layer (NC - OBC)
3% - Seats are reserved for Differently Abled (DA) candidates

Exam fee
The fee is Rs.1800 for General and NC-OBC Candidates. However, if you belong to the SC/ST/PWD (DA) category the applicable fee is Rs.900.
