Part History The part was introduced on June 2, 1962, by Adele Redditt Williamson, Alumnae Vice-President. There were twenty-three sanction individuals including a core of Gay Latimer Young, Alicia Wylie Lumsden and Judy Rae Jones Diano, who had pulled back from a neighborhood sorority, Kappa Rho, to look for a national association. Nine others vowed in January 1961. Initially, the section met in classrooms, with programs in the Student Union, and gatherings in the homes of graduated class and individuals. They moved into a Panhellenic suite in Carter Harris Residence Hall, and moved into the present living arrangement situated in the Greek Village on grounds.
