As a major aspect of the administration's disinvestment program, state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) plans to get recorded as one of the Maharatna organizations, for which it will rebuild its board by April 1.

Also, the organization is hoping to improve its emphasis on aeronautical innovation fragment, instead of being just an assembling firm, HAL's active Chairman R K Tyagi said

Revamping of Hindustan Aeronautics

Government constituted an Expert Group under the Chairmanship of Shri B.K. Chaturvedi, Member, Planning Commission for Strengthening and Restructuring of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Out of 38 proposals of the Committee, 34 are acknowledged and remaining 4 suggestions were not acknowledged.
