KVPY Class XI Sample Paper

Hi, I study in Class XI; can you provide me the paper pattern for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) as I want to know about the sections available in entrance exam question paper?

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is conducted by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore for awarding fellowships as financial support to only those candidates who will be pursuing Bachelor’s programmes in Basic Sciences.

KVPY Exam Pattern

Exam Mode – Computer Based Test

Exam Timings – For SA paper: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and for SB/SX paper: 2:00 to 5:00 pm

Test Language/Medium – Hindi and English

Sessions – Two sessions: Forenoon and Afternoon

Streams – SA and SB/SX streams

Total Questions – SA stream: 80 questions and SB/SX stream: 120 questions

Type of questions – Multiple Choice Questions

Total Marks – 100 marks for SA stream and 120 marks for SB/SX stream

Subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics

KVPY Marking Scheme

There will be two papers for each stream i.e. SA and SB/SX and different marks will be allotted the objective type questions

The part 1 of SA stream carries one mark for each question and part 2 will be carrying 2 marks for each MCQ

Negative Marking – In case of each wrong attempt, 0.25% marks will be deducted for questions from part 1 and 0.50% marks for part 2 of both papers

For SB/SX stream, there are total 120 questions out of which 80 questions of part 1 carries one mark each and part 2 carrying 40 questions of 2 marks each
Negative marking scheme states, deduction of 0.25% marks for wrong attempts in part 1 and 0.50% marks will be deducted for wrong attempts in part 2
