EAMCET Chemistry has lots of concept based questions. Out of 40 questions, nearly 24-28 questions i.e. nearly 60-70% will be easy (direct theory questions from IPE text book). And 12-10 questions i.e. nearly 30-25 % will be moderate (equations based & numerical related) and 4-2 questions i.e. nearly 10-5 % will be difficult (inter conceptual). EAMCET exam Chemistry Preparation Plan Prepare only from the syllabus of the exam. Note the important formulae and conceptual points in a separate note book so that it would be easy to revise repeatedly Practice more number of topic wise assignments and check your performance through consolidated tests. Go through previous EAMCET question papers to know the- pattern and standard of questions. Allocate specific time to every section Cover all the chapters properly. Start from the easy sums, gradually increase the level of difficulty of sums. Try to solve the problem by understanding the concept behind it. Do not leave any topic. Try to learn fundamentals, definitions, concepts & formulae. Don't waste time on unimportant questions EAMCET exam Chemistry syllabus- I. Atomic Structure: In this chapter focus on Hydrogen spectrum , Bohr model.de Broglie relation, Uncertainty principle; Quantum numbers, atomic orbitals and their shapes (s, p, and d), Pauli exclusion principle; Aufbau principle and the electronic configuration of atoms, Hund’s rule. II States of Matter: In this chapter practice more a. On graphs related to Boyle's law ,Charles's law, Molecular velocity distributions etc. b. Problems related to Ideal gas equation, Graham's law, Dalton's law, Molecular velocities, Van der waals equation etc. c. Units of surface tension, viscosity and their applications, influence of temperature on vapour pressure, surface tension, viscosity of liquids etc. III. If you remember the Periodic table completely. There are many questions which can be answered just by knowing the periodic table especially in Inorganic Chemistry. IV. Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure: In this chapter give priority for hybridization &geometry of molecules, Molecular orbital theory, Bond order, Magnetic properties for homo nuclear diatomic species, Polarity- Dipole moments, Hydrogen Bond V. Stoichiometry: Practice the formulae and problems related to empirical and molecular formula, calculating oxidation states, balancing Red-Ox equations etc VI: IA –VIIA Groups, Noble gases: Text book reading is compulsory. Practice Formulae of minerals and ores Preparation of Elements, compounds and their properties along with structures thoroughly. Uses of Elements, compounds. VII: Hydrogen and its compounds Isotropes of H, preparation of H. physical and chemical properties and usefulness of . Preparation, physical and chemical properties and usefulness of VIII. d&f –block elements: practice General characteristics Trends in properties Isomerism in complexes. IUPAC naming of complexes .WERNER theory. CFT and VB theories. Applications of complexes IX: Surface chemistry: Colloids; preparation methods ,types of colloids, properties and applications Catalysis, types of catalysis and their characteristics Adsorption: types and factors affecting adsorption X. Organic Chemistry First and second year: Qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic compounds Classification of organic compounds g XI. Naming the organic compounds according to IUPAC system Structural and stereo isomerism Concept of organic reaction mechanism Influence of electronic displacements on structure and reactivity Acidic nature of alcohols ,phenols and carboxylic acids. Their values Basic nature of amines and their values All named reactions along with reagents and reaction conditions Preparation and properties of compounds. Here are a few in Chemistry which have to be prepared in a different way from your normal preparation for EAMCET exam and can expect direct memory based questions. XI. Biomolecules: Carbohydrates: Classification; Monosaccharides; Structures of pentoses and hexoses; Anomeric carbon; Mutarotation; chemical reactions of glucose, Disaccharides: reducing and non-reducing sugars – sucrose, maltose and lactose; Polysaccharides: elementary idea of structures of starch and cellulose. Proteins: Amino acids; Peptide bond; Polypeptides; Primary structure , secondary , tertiary and quaternary structures of proteins; Denaturation of proteins and enzymes. Nucleic Acids: Types of nucleic acids; Primary building blocks of nucleic acids (chemical composition of DNA & RNA); Primary structure of DNA and its double helix; Replication; Transcription and protein synthesis; Genetic code. Hormones, Vitamins: Classification, structure, functions in bio systems. Polymers: Classification of polymers; General methods of polymerization; Molecular mass of polymers; Biopolymers and biodegradable polymers; Free radical, cationic and anionic addition polymerizations; Copolymerization: Natural rubber, Vulcanization of rubber, Synthetic rubbers, Condensation polymers XIII: Environmental chemistry: pollutants, soil, water and air pollution; Chemical reactions in atmosphere, Smog, Major atmospheric pollutants, Acid rain, Ozone and its reactions, Depletion of ozone layer and its effects, Industrial air pollution, Green house effect , Green Chemistry. XIV. Chenmistry In Every Day Life: Chemicals in medicine, health-care and food: Analgesics, Tranquilizers, antiseptics, disinfectants, anti-microbial, anti-fertility drugs, antihistamines, antibiotics, antacids ,Food Preservatives, artificial sweetening agents, antioxidants , soaps and detergents. XV. Solutions: Electro chemistry, Acids-bases, chemical equilibrium and kinetics: in these practice equally conceptual and problematic parts. Trying to solve the same problem in different methods will be useful at the time of Preparation but remember the simplest method.
