Punjab Gramin Bank is a sponsor bank of Punjab National Bank - a pioneer banking institution in India.

The Bank has come into existence after amalgamation of three erstwhile RRBs i.e.:
- Kapurthala Firozpur Kshetria Gramin Bank,
- Gurdaspur Amritsar Kshetria Gramin Vikas Bank,
- Shivalik Kshetria Gramin Bank

The Information About the PGB Mitra (Basic Saving Bank Deposit Account of the Punjab Gramin Bank is as follow

PGB Mitra (Basic Saving Bank Deposit Account)

Eligibility:
Individual (Single or Jointly), Minor of age 10 year or above, illiterate/visually impared person

ii. KYC Norms: Simplified/Limited KYC Norms.

iii. Minimum Balance: Zero Balance.

iv. Max Balance: Not more than Rs 50000/-

v. Maximum Transactions: 50 per year.

Vi. Rate of Interest: 4% P.A. applicable on Daily Basis.

vi. Overdraft Facility: OD Facility upto Rs 500/-.

vii. Cheque Book: Cheque Book of 20 leaves free of Charge per year.
