According to me there different scholarship amount through National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), not 4000 rupees to clear your doubt I will gather information for you. Scholarship amount Level of Education Scholarship amount for year 2018 (in INR) Class XI to Class XII Rs.1250 Undergraduate level Rs. 2000 Postgraduate level Rs. 2000 Ph.D. level As per UGC norms Eligibility Candidates currently studying in class 10 are eligible to apply for stage 1 exam of NTSE 2018 Candidates must not be more than 18 years of age as on July of year of the examination Candidates studying through open learning/ distance mode education are also eligible to apply, however, they must not be above 18 years of age and not be employed anywhere. Candidates must not be re-appear examination of class 10 Exam Pattern The pattern of written examination will be as follows: Stage-I examination at the State/ UT level will comprise of two parts, namely: a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) b) Language Test (LT) c) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Stage- I & II Pattern Examination at the States/UT level will comprise of three papers i.e. Paper-I: Mental Ability Test (MAT) - 50 No. of Questions; 50 No. of Marks; Duration: 45 Minutes Paper-II: Language Comprehensive Test (English/Hindi Language) - 50 No. of Questions; 50 No. of Marks; Duration: 45 Minutes Paper-III: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) - 100 No. of Questions; 100 No. of Marks; Duration: 90 Minutes At Stage-II (National Level), there will be negative marking in each paper. For each wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions Qualifying Marks: Qualifying marks for candidates from General Category is 40% in each paper and for candidates from SC, ST and PH is 35% in each paper Language Test Qualifying in nature and marks obtained for Language Test will not be counted for final merit
