As you want to know about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), so here I am giving following details:

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy

Objectives
(i) To be a Member of Global Compact Forum and subscribe to its principles for its implementation in RINL.
(ii) To initiate voluntary measures addressing social and environmental concerns of stakeholders.
(iii) To make CSR a key business process for sustainable development
(iv) To be a good Corporate Citizen.

Scope
The scope of RINL, CSR will include socio-economic, environmental and cultural up-liftment activities other than those statutory in nature and also welfare activities meant for employees. The focus will be on Community. The areas are as under:
(i) Environmental care
(ii) Education
(iii) Health care
(iv) People care
(v) Peripheral Development
(vi) Cultural Efflorescence
(vii) Activities as a responsible Corporate Citizen
(viii) To extend help during natural calamities like Floods, Fire, epidemic etc.

Strategy
With a view to making RINL CSR Policy sustainable, its activities will be based on Core
Competency, Community and Customers’ choice and thus there will be strong business dimension of CSR measures adding value to the bottom line and preventing CSR Policy running aground or becoming a species of philanthropy that no business organization has stomach to run on a long term basis.

Initiatives
RINL CSR strategy will have fourfold initiative as under:
(i) RINL as Promoter: RINL taking up CSR activities on its own.

(ii) RINL as a Partner: RINL building up partnership with Voluntary Bodies, Autonomous
Bodies, Statutory Agencies, State and Central Government Agencies, to take up Corporate
Strategic Responsibility Projects on a sustainable basis.

Voluntary Body is defined as under:
a) Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) registered with State/Central Government having 10 years of sustained experience in the field of activity in taking up Socioeconomic & Cultural Upliftment project, and should have a minimum level of past turnover/expenditure to the tune ofRs.10 lakhs at least in one of the three preceding years.
b) Registered NGOs having IT exemption under IT Act, 1961 towards contribution made to them will only be considered.

The eligibility conditions laid down by the Board to receive grant by NGOs from
RINL for various projects under RINL-CSR Policy —
NGOs should have :
a) IT Exemption,
b) 10 (Ten) years of sustained experience in the field of activity, and
c) Minimum level of past turnover/expenditure to the tune of Rs.10 (Rupees Ten Lakhs) at least in one of the three preceeding years.

(iii) RINL as Facilitator: RINL making contributions to various Socially Beneficial Projects in and around VSP, in the district of Visakhapatnam in the State of Andhra Pradesh, and in Country at large.

(iv) RINL as a Consultant: RINL extending assistance in terms of technical expertise, managérial expertise, etc. to Welfare and Developmental Projects.
