The Tier-II exam would be held on November 30 and December 2. The Quantitative Aptitude (Part 1) and English Language and Comprehension (Part II) examination will be held on November 30 while the examination for Statistics (Part III) and General Studies (Finance and Economics){Part IV} will be held on December 2.

SSC CGL Tier 2 2016 is held for only those candidates who have qualified the preliminary exam (Tier 1). This tier will the main examination and the candidates short listed from this tier will then called for the final personal interview round from which the main selections will be done.

The Exam of SSC CGL Tier 2 2016 was held offline. There is different admit card will be issued for the examination.

The candidates have been given 2 hours to take the test in a shift. However, Visually Handicapped (VH) and Cerebral Palsy candidates have been given 2 hours and 40 minutes to take the test in a shift.

On the basis of CGL (Tier-I) Examination, 2016, number of candidates who have provisionally qualified for different papers of Tier-II are:
Paper-I and II: 1,49,319 (Total candidates)
Paper-III: 28,234 (only for posts of junior statistical officer (Grade-II)/Compiler)
Paper-IV: 45,293 (only for the posts of assistant audit officer in CAG)

Educational Qualification
One must have done graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

Age Limit:

One’s age should be between 18 to 27 years old as on 1st January 2016.
Age relaxation will be applicable as per government rule.

CGL Tier-2 comprises of 4 Papers, with each paper has duration of 2 hours. Out of these 4 Papers, Paper 1 and Paper-2 are compulsory for everyone, while Paper-3 and Paper-4 are for those, who apply for specialized posts like Statistical Investigator and Assistant Audit Officer

 Paper-1 comprises of 100 Questions on Quantitative Aptitude (200 Marks). Each Question carries 2 marks, and Duration of Exam is 2 hours. There will be penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
 Paper -II would be of English Language and Comprehension. There will be 200 Questions carrying 200 marks, and each question, have weighatge of 1 mark. Negative marks for Paper-II are 0.25 marks / Question and Duration of exam is 2 hours.
 Paper-III is only for those, who have applied for the post of Statistical Investigator (now known as Junior Statistical Officer). This paper, will have 100 Questions on Statistics (200 Marks), with each question carrying 2 marks. For every wrong answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted.
 Paper-IV is for those, who have applied for the post of Assistant Audit officer in CAG. Again this Paper will have 40 Questions (80 Marks) on Accounts and Finance and 60 Questions (120 Marks) on Economics and Governance. Overall, there are 100 Questions carrying 200 Marks with 2 marks per Question. Duration of this paper is 2 hours and penalty for every wrong answer is 0.50 marks.
